University of Ghana Lecturer Suspended for Sexual Harassment!

The University of Ghana has suspended Dr. Sampson Obed Appiah, a senior lecturer in the Sociology Department, for two semesters over allegations of sexual harassment.

His suspension, along with disciplinary actions against 16 other students for various forms of misconduct, was confirmed in a notice signed by Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah, the Registrar of the University, dated 12th March 2025.

As part of the sanctions, Dr. Appiah is required to issue a formal written apology to the complainant. Additionally, he is barred from applying for promotion to the next highest grade for one year after serving his suspension.
